Designer's note
"Good things come in small bowls - or katora as they are known in Hindi, and battalu in Kannada. I wanted to make a piece of jewellery reminiscent of the comfort of a small bowl of dal (lentils) and rice. The idea was to make it personal, yet interesting. The 'Battalu' pendant chain brings together smooth, gentle curves and a beautiful hand hammered texture; these contrasting surfaces bring about a pleasing play of light. 'Battalu' expresses a fondness for familiar functional objects, everyday rituals and pursues an essentialist approach to aesthetics. It is a versatile piece that is perfect for work and casual outings."
